Achievements

  • YourRail is the first company to successfully supply a train operator - Chiltern Railways - with a full system for purchasing, retailing, fulfilling and validating train tickets electronically in the UK. By April 2008, 18,000 customers have signed up and more than 40,000 eTickets have been sold. Chiltern intends to sell ± 3,000 eTickets daily on the YourRail system by the end of 2008. Chiltern received an award for 'The Innovative Transport Project of the Year' at the London Transport Awards on 27 February 2008.
  • YourRail and Chiltern worked co-operatively with a gate manufacturer to plan, install and operate a pilot gate solution in Marylebone Station to validate customers' mobile tickets.
  • In December YourRail deployed a new and scalable system designed 'from the ground up' for the rail industry. It includes an e-Ticketing database that we specified, own and operate. From the YourRail Central Validation Database, different smart ticketing media can be supported. This was developed to YourRail's specification by Trinity Mobile.
  • In April 2008, YourRail deployed an eTicketing system for The Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railway.
